Where some reinterpret their heritage to attract new audiences, others seek to anchor their modernity within an established culture, to find the legitimacy of a history. This ambition is embodied by the Prélude Balance, a creative philosophy poised between memory and invention, tradition and boldness.

Prélude speaks to all: to brands and houses, to singular venues, to individuals, to those wishing to combine heritage and avant-garde, craftsmanship and emerging disciplines, in order to create unique, sensorial experiences, true invitations to savour the present moment.

THE ART OF CREATING DIALOGUE BETWEEN ERAS

Like a metronome that bends from past to future, the Prélude Balance is a perpetual movement: a back-and-forth between memory and perspective, between the stories the world has left us and what we choose to make of them.

Within our Studio, this dialogue takes shape through a harmony of talents. While some excel in the archaeology of gestures, the gathering of savoir-faire and the study of heritage, others operate as cultural seismographs, capturing faint signals, mapping the territories of the avant-garde. We do not seek to oppose tradition and innovation, but to connect them.

A JOURNEY IN THE HANDS OF TIME

The Prélude Balance also expresses itself in our relationship to objects, materials and gestures. We are treasure-hunters, collectors, sometimes even restorers. But we are also scouts, trend-seekers, curators who enjoy shaking up codes and those who set them.

Between these two movements, we imagine creations that draw from the strata of the past to shape works that are both documented and inspired, blending aesthetics with responsibility.

GIVING MEMORY A BODY

In October 2025, we invited a couple of contemporary dancers from the Alaïa troupe to inhabit, for the duration of a short film, the Hôtel Particulier Alfred Sommier, built in Paris in 1860. Within these memory-laden walls, their bodies revealed new volumes, lending breath and movement to stone. Dance, ephemeral by nature, found there a memory to inhabit. For an instant, a poetic dialogue unfolded between space and gesture, a living creation that extended the soul of this remarkable place. For this, too, is the Prélude Balance: transforming heritage into experience and experience into new heritage.

OUR CULTURES SHAPE WHAT WE CREATE

We are four, nourished by different worlds: architecture and design, photography and cinema, history and literature, dance, music and graphic arts.Our references span centuries, movements and sensibilities. They are our raw materials, our common ground and at times our fields of debate. For it is in these exchanges, in this diversity, that the projects we share with our clients are born.

Because the Prélude Balance, before being a method, is a conversation - between us, with you and with time.
